Move Forward in Faith


Are you a person that will move forward in faith?
I know I am.
Even when the odds are against me, I have this inner "Go for it," attitude that seems to drive my life.
This ability to see things from the end result, whether its from my business or my family, this idea has served me so many times in my life. The ability to live by a 'believe it and then I'll see it,' has created so many great things for me. Let me give you an example how this can work in your life.
This has been a great week around the Putnam home! Bill and I have been working on our garden this week.
I believe that people who grow a garden believe and have faith in the future. They understand that you move forward in faith.
Do you have a garden? If you do, you know the work that is involved. One week ago, I walked by my 20x15 garden and said, "You know, I think I'll wait on the garden this year." I was already thinking about all the watering, weeding and time I was going to be dedicating to it.
Two days later, I walked by and said, "Why not just clean out the weeds." So, the cleaning began. Shoveling and pulling. Shoveling and pulling...yes, and more pulling. I wore through my leather gloves. Now, that's a lot of work when you wear through your gloves!
But you see, my clearing out my weeded mess of a hairy garden, I was actually putting into a place an idea of growing my new garden....a seed of thought.
As it got clearer and the beds of the garden started to take shape, I started planning what I wanted to plant. Spaghetti squash, tomatoes, green beans, bell peppers. Maybe double up on the spaghetti squash.
When we're clearing out the weeds in the garden are the bell peppers and squash there?
NO!
But we know they will be. We don't question it. We know it's just a matter of time, care and effort. We move forward in faith. We don't wonder if the green beans will appear. We're looking for the plants to push out of the soil and for our first signs of the long skinny tubes.
Faith is the knowing in the unseen. Fear is the worrying of the unseen. Faith is knowing that what you believe is there even when you can't see it. Just like the garden with the vegetables. They're not there right now...but they will be.
Why? Because it started with the seed of thought, to planting with the seed of intention and expectation. When I plant the seeds, I expect to harvest a crop. It's the same for planting seeds in business, relationships, health etc...
I've lived by this African philosophy "When you pray, move your feet."When you ask the universe for what you desire, it's the inspired action that says, "I'm serious about this. I'll do whatever it takes to accomplish this goal." Now is the time to move forward in faith.
How to Move Forward in Faith of Abundance
Trust Your GutIntuition is powerful so trust yourself! Trust the internal nudges that you receive guiding you to move forward. Even when people tell you that you're crazy, not normal...that's what the masses will always say! In fact, if I don't hear that from others, I begin to wonder if my dream is big enough! Follow your heart.
Find a MentorMost people can find inspiration through others. Ask questions and learn from someone that has been successful before you. Be authentic about what you're experiencing and what you're looking to create. A mentor has paved the way for you. Learn from their mistakes. One special note about mentors, even though this person has had great results, still follow your own instincts. Always take responsibility of living with your own mistakes and not giving away all your power to someone else.
Go For ItDon't listen to the fears and doubts that will come up. Focus on what you desire and move forward toward your goal. Go forward with the knowledge that there will be obstacles to cross. Stay solution focused and not problem focused.
